So here is the most commonly practiced mistake amongst some of us personal trainers, especially if you have a beginner client and their goal isn’t the same as yours.
To be honest at the beginning I had the same mindset but then I’ve learnt and practiced from many trials and errors and eventually learnt how to create a much more sustainable good guideline for my clients.(still learning)
What we must first understand in this matter is that not everyone is the same in terms of their ;
-timings
-food availability
-physical capacity
-mentally
-life style and so on
So giving them what works for you or maybe someone else is not really sustainable,
-how sure are you that they will actually continue doing what their don’t like?
-What if the person is only available to eating out?
-Do mamak and all restaurants sell boiled broccoli or asparagus?
-What is the client works on a shift basis?
Don’t you think they’ll mentally give up faster if they have to consume and do something that they don’t like?
-what if your client lives out and has no kitchen to cook and prep meals?
What most beginners need is,
To perceive and understand themselves, their food and journey better, as coaches it’s our job to help them do that as well as teach them how to work their way around it.
It’s not always the clients fault if they fail to cope with the diet plan you gave, sometimes you need to know that you messed up and your
“diet plan is not sustainable” at all!
STOP BLAMING YOUR CLIENTS!
So try to check on them more and also learn how they have adapted to their intake and program and reflect on it on a weekly basis atleast, also revise from time to time if needed.
NOT EVERYONE IS YOU COACH!
Thank you and have a good day,
Hope you’ve learnt something today.
